Brew lovers rush to grab kegs and cans after train hits beer truck, Georgia reports say

Beer lovers didn’t hesitate to help clean up when a truck carrying booze spilled its cargo in Georgia, reports say.

The beer truck was involved in a collision with a train in Henry County early Tuesday morning, and the cans and kegs of beer it was carrying were strewn all over the area, WGXA/Fox24 reported. Henry County is southeast of Atlanta.

Passerby saw an opportunity to get free beer, and scrambled to the scene of the crash, WGCL/CBS46 reported. Bicyclists were pedaling off with as much as they could carry and pickup truck drivers were loading up their beds with the spilled booze, according to CBS46. Police didn’t try to stop them.

But what wasn’t salvaged by beer lovers will be thrown out, WSB-TV reported.

Officials told WAGA/FOX5 Atlanta that no one was injured in the collision.

The beer was cleared off the train tracks but it will take “hours and heavy machinery” to clean up the rest of the mess, WSB-TV reported.
