A Broward shopper walked out of a Publix with a $5 million lottery prize

Stopping at a Miramar Publix and playing a Florida Lottery scratch-off game turned out to be a financially life-changing experience for a Davie man.

When Bejamin Chiurliza bought a $20 Monopoly Secret Vault game ticket at the Publix at Monarch Lakes, 14375 Miramar Pkwy., he won one of the four $5 million top prizes. Chiurliza took a one-time, lump sum payout of $2,884,920 when he claimed his prize at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
