A truck driver who went missing this month while hauling vehicles to Miami was found dead in coastal Georgia, according to the FBI.

Alejandro Jacomino Gonzalez, 41, picked up the shipment of vehicles on April 16 at the Port of Brunswick in Georgia, the FBI said in a statement. He was last seen alive early the next day at the I-95 South Brevard County rest area in Grant-Valkaria.

His GPS data showed the truck heading south one exit before turning north toward Jacksonville, the FBI said. Gonzalez became unreachable shortly after, and the truck was reported missing.

The semi that Gonzalez was driving was found in Port Wentworth, Georgia, but he was not with the truck, the FBI said. There were also several cars missing from the hauler.

It’s unclear when or how Gonzalez’s body was found. No additional details were available Wednesday afternoon, an FBI spokesperson said. The FBI’s Tampa and Atlanta divisions are leading the investigation into Gonzalez’s death.
