A day after raping woman, Doral man attacked a motel housekeeper, police say
A man arrested on charges that he raped and beat a woman after kidnapping her from a parking lot Thursday is now accused of attacking a Doral motel housekeeper with a sharp object the next day.
Daysnel Hernandez, 41, is in Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center awaiting bond on a slew of felony charges, including attempted second-degree murder, sexual battery, kidnapping and burglary.
Around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Doral police say a 28-year-old woman got out of her car at a parking lot at 777 Northwest 72nd Avenue when Hernandez hit her on the back of the head with a large rock, covered her mouth and dragged her to a secluded area while holding a screwdriver to her neck before raping her.

As the attack ensued, the woman begged Hernandez not to kill her, his arrest report shows. After raping her, police say Hernandez ran away.
‘Shut up, or I will kill you’
The next day, around 11:30 a.m., a housekeeper at the Doral Inn and Suites, located at 1212 Northwest 82nd Avenue, entered a room to clean it and then found a man, who police say is Hernandez, holding a sharp tool.
He told the woman in Spanish, “Shut up, or I will kill you,” his arrest report says.
Hernandez then attacked the woman with the tool, piercing her forehead and bruising her face, according to investigators.
The woman screamed for help on the radio, and Hernandez fled, detectives say. A colleague heard her cry for help over the radio and ran to her aid.
Detectives watched security camera footage that showed Hernandez arrive in a white Chevrolet van with Danny’s Mobile Car Wash written on the side. The footage showed him park in front of the room where the attack took place, the report states.
The camera also caught footage of Hernandez running to the van at about 11:35 a.m., police say.
A license plate reader flagged the van near Northwest 78th Avenue and 12th Street. The van is registered to another person, but detectives noted Hernandez has received a traffic citation while driving the vehicle.
Police spotted the van parked on the second-story of a garage of an apartment building located at 3940 Northwest 79th Avenue.
Police contacted Hernandez’s girlfriend, who lives with him at an apartment in the building, the report shows.
The woman called Hernandez and told him to meet her in the lobby, where police arrested him at 4:30 p.m.
Per the arrest report, Hernandez provided a full confession about attacking the housekeeper. Police believe Hernandez intended on burglarizing the motel room before the woman walked in, according to the report.
