A man is behind bars after authorities say he hit a woman in the back of the head with a rock before dragging her to a secluded area and sexually assaulting her multiple times.

On Thursday, around 10:30 p.m., a 28-year-old woman exited her car in the parking lot area of 777 NW 72nd Ave., near an underpass, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say Daysnel Hernandez,41, of Doral then came up behind the woman and hit her in the back of the head with a large rock. The woman told investigators that Hernandez covered her mouth and held a screwdriver up to her neck and dragged her to a secluded area.

He would proceed to punch her multiple times with his fist as the woman tried to break free from him, his arrest affidavit reads.

Hernandez sexually assaulted the woman multiple times as he remained armed with the screwdriver. The woman said she begged Hernandez not to kill her, according to MDSO.

After the assaults, Hernandez ran away back towards the parking lot.

Deputies say the woman suffered “multiple lacerations, abrasions, and contusions throughout her body.”

Hernandez was taken into custody by the Doral Police Department for an unrelated incident, according to MDSO.

Deputies say that he confessed to raping the victim and corroborated her statements.

He was charged with kidnapping with a weapon, sexual battery with a deadly weapon causing injury and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Jail records show that Hernandez remains in custody at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Saturday with a bond status of “to be set.”
