Witnesses, including a boy who called 911, said they saw and heard Youmans and Roseme arguing and throwing things at each other, according to Youmans’ arrest report.
As Roseme sat on the seawall, Youmans pushed her into the water, the witness, who was across the river at the time underneath the SW 1st Street Bridge, told police.
The boy called 911 and maintained visual contact with Youmans until officers detained him, according to the report.
Another witness, a woman who was familiar with Roseme because she frequently exercises in the area, also saw the incident and corroborated the boy’s account, according to the report.
While homicide detectives interviewed Youmans at the police station, he acted violently, sporadically screamed, punched the walls of the room and masturbated on the table, according to the report.
On Friday, Youmans remained at Turner Guilford Correctional Center with bond yet to be set by a judge, according to jail records.
