A Doral high school teacher was jailed Thursday after another teacher walked in on him having sex with a student inside his classroom, according to police.

Around 3:30 p.m. a teacher at J.C. Bermudez Doral Senior High School walked from her classroom through a shared closet into the classroom of Edian Villar, 28.

That’s when she saw him with a 17-year-old student on his desk, according to Villar’s arrest affidavit. The witness told police that the pair seemed startled, and she saw Villar pulling up his black underwear as she left the room..

Police say the teacher immediately reported Villar to the school principal.

Later that day, Miami-Dade school police went to the student’s home and interviewed her with her mother present.

The student told police that “the relationship started as a normal teacher-student relationship and then progressed over the school year as the defendant treated her special and showed her attention,” police wrote in the arrest report.

The teen told police that they had been having sex in his classroom.

She also said that Villar is “cool” and “not like the other teachers,” and that he let her be in his school clubs.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools said in a statement to the Miami Herald that the district is “disturbed by the unsettling allegations made against this individual.”

“The District has initiated employment termination proceedings and will ensure the individual is precluded from seeking future employment with the District,” the statement said.

Villar, who was arrested at the school at 5005 NW 112th Ave., is charged with unlawful sexual activity with a specified minor, child abuse without causing serious injury, offenses against students by authority figures and contributing to the delinquency or dependency of a child.

Jail records show Villar remained at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Friday and has a bond status of “to be set.”
