Two men arrested days after Miami-Dade tattoo shop employee shot and robbed, cops say
Miami-Dade detectives arrested two men Tuesday in connection with a shooting and robbery at a Kendale Lakes tattoo shop last week.
Elijah Young and Nathaniel Sweeting, both 18, are accused of sticking up two employees of Eazy Street Tattoos in the Miller Shops Plaza at 13433 Miller Drive, Thursday night while they were taking a break. One of the workers was shot in the back as he tried escaping, according to police.
The armed men then took the victims’ belongings, including jewelry, and drove off in a car, Detective Angel Rodriguez, a Miami-Dade police spokesman, said in a statement.
Police announced Tuesday that they arrested Young and Sweeting on attempted murder, carjacking and armed robbery charges. They were both booked into the Metro West Detention Center in Doral Tuesday. Bond had not been set.
Police have not named the victims. A bystander took the wounded man to HCA Kendall Hospital, where he was listed in critical, but, stable, condition, Rodriguez said.
The other man was not hurt during the robbery, according to police.
