Two cars of people shooting on a major Miami street, two people shot, one person dead

Two blockages on Northwest 27th Avenue that dropped Miami-Dade’s morning rush hour from bad to worse on Tuesday were the product of a double shooting that left one person dead.

The 6:04 a.m. incident closed the avenue’s southbound side from Northwest 79th to 75th streets, where a crashed car was smashed near a bus bench, and Northwest 87th to 88th streets, where police found casings at a gas station.

According to Miami-Dade police, passengers in two cars began shooting at each other as they headed down Unity Boulevard. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took one car’s driver to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital for gunshot wound treatment. The driver of the car that crashed wasn’t shot, and was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

The crashed car’s other passenger, however, was shot and died in the street.

Two cars, two people shot, one person dead — and zero people talking.

“All parties are not cooperative,” said an email from Miami-Dade police Detective Argemis Colome.
