A Palm Beach teen was shot dead in a Kendall park in 2021. Another teen will be charged

A suspect was arrested on Monday evening in the September 2021 shooting death of a West Palm Beach teen at Sandpiper Park, Miami-Dade police said.

Angelo Guzman was 14 when he was killed. The suspect sitting in Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a charge of second degree murder is 18-year-old William Garrido Corbea.

Garrido turned 17 two weeks before Sept. 19, 2021. That evening, Guzman was at a family gathering at one of the Kendall park’s pavilions when he stepped away to meet friends nearby. Family members then heard gunshots.

The charge will prevent Garrido from receiving bond.
