Police arrest suspect in shooting at a Miami Beach McDonald’s. Victim remains in hospital

A man was arrested Monday night after police say he shot another hours earlier near a McDonald’s in Miami Beach.

Quadir Hasan Wilson, 26, faces charges of attempted murder and resisting an officer without violence. The Miami Beach resident remained behind bars at Miami-Dade County’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Tuesday.

The suspect was spotted at 15th Terrace and Alton Road, Miami Beach police said Monday evening in a news release. Officers also say they recovered a firearm he was carrying.

The victim, a homeless man, remains hospitalized at Jackson Memorial Hospital, cops said.

Police found the wounded man around 3 a.m. Monday near the McDonald’s on the corner of 16th Street and Alton Road.

After the shooting, police say, a man was seen running north on Alton Road.

Traffic on Alton Road between Lincoln Road and 16th Street was affected for several hours.
