A man was killed in an early morning shooting Wednesday in downtown Hollywood, police said.

By the evening, police released photos of a man detectives say was seen leaving the area after the shooting.

The shooting happened around 4:05 a.m. in the 1900 block of Hollywood Boulevard, about a quarter mile on foot from Young Circle Park.

Officers responding to a report of a shooting found a wounded man and rushed him to Memorial Regional Hospital. The man, whom police have not yet identified, later died from his injuries.

While police have not released a motive or whether the men knew each other, the department called the shooting “an isolated incident.”
