One dead after Sunday afternoon shooting in a flea market parking lot, cops say

A Sunday shooting in the parking lot of the USA Oakland Park Flea Market Mall and Shopping Center killed one person, Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

BSO said the person died at the scene, 3161 W. Oakland Park Blvd., as deputies answered a 12:51 p.m. call about a shooting. The dead person’s name was withheld as the next of kin invoked Marsy’s Law.

Witnesses told BSO an argument among several men ended with men in dressed in dark clothes doing the shooting and left, driving south in a Cadillac Escalade or similar SUV. What BSO described as “an AR-15 type rifle” was found.

Anyone who wants to pass on information about this incident can call BSO homicide detectives at 954-321-4226 or, to remain anonymous, Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477 (TIPS) or go to the Broward Crime Stoppers website.
