A man is dead and a woman is injured after being shot while riding down a Broward street

A drive-along shooting left one man dead and a woman hospitalized in Oakland Park, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

Lauderdale Lakes resident Horaldo Martin, 26, was dead in the driver’s seat of a Nissan. His passenger was taken to an area hospital.

The call alerting BSO to the shooting in the 3100 block of Northwest 44th Street, about a quarter mile from Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson High School, came in just before 3:30 a.m.

BSO spokesman Carey Codd said it appears a car pulled alongside Martin’s Nissan and began shooting into the car as it headed east on Northwest 44th Street.

“There were multiple rounds that were fired,” Codd told media at the scene. “It appears that the suspect vehicle continued to pursue the victims’ vehicle and continued to fire at the victims’ vehicle.”

Anyone who knows anything about this shooting can contact Broward Crime Stoppers via the website or 954-493-8477 (TIPS), or BSO Det. Mike Roque or Det. Tiberio Barbosa at 954-321-4210. A reward of up to $3,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.
