One of the two 16-year-old boys arrested Monday in Miami Gardens faces a murder charge from a carjacking in Miramar over the weekend.

Gerson Woods is charged with first-degree murder and armed carjacking. Nathaniel Williams faces charges unspecified by Miramar police other than stating they’re not related to the carjacking.

Also not released by police is the name of the victim, although social media mourners point to a Pembroke Pines resident who graduated from Miami Sunset High and went to Florida International University.

Miramar police say he had just brought a friend to a house in the 3600 block of Marlberry Lane in Miramar around 11:39 Sunday night when Woods and Williams appeared. Investigators believe Woods shot him and that both took off in the victim’s 2014 Mercedes-Benz.

Meanwhile, the victim was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, where he died.

After Miami Gardens police found the Mercedes, both jumped out of the car around the 3800 block of Northwest 213th Terrace, just over two miles from the carjacking.

Woods was arrested Monday morning. Williams was taken into custody later.
