He’d lived with his mother for a month. He fatally shot her because ‘he lost it,’ cops say

A North Miami Beach man called 911 on himself after shooting his mother, police said.

Luis Pages, 29, faces second-degree murder charges. His mother, identified in reports as 59-year-old Miriam Gonzalez, was declared dead at 5:22 p.m. Sunday when Miami-Dade Fire Rescue got to the trailer in the 2000 block of Northeast 135th Terrace she shared with her son.

The arrest report for Pages described him as “hysterical” when he called Miami-Dade police communications and said he shot his mother “because he lost it.” He’d been living with her for a month.

Pages was on bond after a January arrest on petit theft and resisting an officer charges.

This time, based on the charges, he is being held at Miami-Dade jail with no bond.
