24-year-old charged with murder in the death of his Pembroke Pines neighbor

A Sunday night death in Pembroke Pines turned into Monday’s arrest of a 24-year-old man who lives nearby.

Wesley Perez and the victim live in homes in the 10000 block of Southwest Sixth Court, which is where Pembroke Pines police say they found a person fatally shot Sunday night around 9:30 a.m.

Pines police say Perez knew the victim, who still hasn’t been officially identified.

Perez is facing a premeditated murder charge. His previous Broward County criminal history starts and ends with a conviction for misdemeanor DUI with property damage or injury from a 2017 incident.
