Gunman on ATV opens fire and wounds 2 men and a woman in drive-by shooting, police say

At least one gunman on an ATV opened fire at two men who were driving in South Miami-Dade.

Police said both men were hit in the head. A woman in front of her home also was shot, according to police. The shooter then drove away.

The shooting happened at Southwest 113th Place and 191st Lane around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Miami-Dade police. The neighborhood is near Miami Southridge Senior High School and Florida’s Turnpike.

Police say the two men who were shot were driving east on 191st Lane when the gunman began firing at their car. It’s still unclear how many shooters police are searching for. WSVN reported that there were several gunmen riding on ATVs.

When officers arrived, they found one of the victims shot in the head, the other grazed by a bullet in his head.

A woman sitting outside her home — believed to be a bystander — was also grazed in the head by a stray bullet, according to police.

All three were taken to a hospital. Police say the man who was struck in the head is in critical condition at Jackson South Trauma Center. Their identities have not been disclosed.
