Miami police detectives were investigating a shooting Sunday afternoon that left a teenager dead.
The victim, who has been identified by Miami police as Pedro Joaquin Uriarte, 18, was found dead at Northwest Fourth Court and 20th Street, near Paul Laurence Dunbar Elementary School.
Uriarte, a student at Miami Jackson High, was walking alongside the sidewalk when an unknown person began shooting at a bout 3:30 p.m., fatally striking him, according to Miami police.
Spokeswoman Kenia Fallat said it is not clear what led up to the shooting.

Witnesses said the shooting stemmed from a robber who wanted the teen's headphones.
