Give Miami Day kicks off Thursday. Here’s how to donate to your favorite charities
In just a few hours, Give Miami Day, the largest single-city giving event in the United States, will start and collect what is projected to be thousands of donations for Miami-area nonprofits.
The 24-hour event, hosted by The Miami Foundation, will begin at 12:01 a.m. Thursday and continue until midnight. Donations can be made at www.GiveMiamiDay.org.
In its 14th year, there are over 1,400 participating nonprofits or 10 “issue areas” to donate to, which include animals, community care and education and youth. More than half of the organizations involved have operating budgets under $250,000.
Donations begin at $25. Last year, the event raised $39.5 million from more than 100,000 donations. Early Giving for the 2025 Give Miami Day began on Saturday and will end on Wednesday before the official launch of the event on Thursday.
This year, South Florida’s nonprofit organizations are facing significant budget cuts due to major reductions in federal, state and local government budgets.
