Give Miami Day’s early giving starts. Time to help nonprofits reeling from cuts
Give Miami Day, the largest single-city giving event in the United States, will be held on Thursday with Early Giving already taking place through Wednesday.
Now in its 14th year, Give Miami Day raised $39.5 million last year from more than 100,000 donations—a 16% increase in funds and 13% growth in donors over the prior year.
This year, more than 1,300 nonprofits will participate in the 24-hour event, hosted by The Miami Foundation.
“This is our moment to stand together and give back,” said Miami Foundation President and CEO Rebecca Fishman Lipsey. “The unity and goodness that is unleashed has a massive ripple effect on every part of Miami. There’s no other day like it.”
This year, Miami-area nonprofits are contending with government cutbacks on the federal, state and local levels at a time when need is at record levels.

More than half of the organizations involved with Give Miami Day have operating budgets under $250,000. Many sponsors will match donations, making their gifts spread further.
Donations begin at $25. Early giving began online at www.GiveMiamiDay.org on Saturday, Nov. 15, and will continue through Wednesday, Nov. 19. Give Miami Day starts at 12:01 a.m. Thursday and continues until midnight.
On Sunday, The Miami Foundation hosted the inaugural Give Miami 5K and Community Festival at Maurice Ferré Park in downtown Miami. More than 2,500 people ran, walked and skipped to give to nonprofits participating in Give Miami Day 2025. By 10:30 a.m. Sunday, the live donation ticker showed $1.7 million had been raised so far. That number will grow throughout the week.
People can donate to organizations at www.GiveMiamiDay.org.
