Miami police on Friday identified the man and his estranged wife who died Wednesday in a bloody apparent murder-suicide.
Police said 40-year-old Isis Valdes Cruz was stabbed to death by her estranged husband, 55-year-old Heriberto Garcia Ortega. The crime happened Wednesday night as Cruz exited her car near a Miami home.
Garcia then turned the knife he used on his wife on himself, stabbing himself in the stomach and then slashing his own throat.
He was taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Miami-Dade County medical examiner records show next of kin have been notified.
According to police, the stabbing happened at about 5 p.m. around Northwest 58th Court and Second Street, just north of Flagler Street and west of Red Road. Police said the man ambushed his wife and slashed her throat.
A neighbor told Herald news partner Univision 23 that he was outside, heard screams and ran to where he found the bloodied woman lying on the sidewalk near a fence. A call came into 911 reporting a violent dispute.
Cedano said the pair had an adult child.
