Man riding scooter killed in fiery crash on I-95

A man driving a scooter was killed in a crash on Interstate 95 early Saturday.

The accident happened at 5:25 a.m. on I-95 and Northwest 62nd Street.

Dale Hudson, 49, of Miramar was on his 2011 Kait scooter, traveling north in the outside lane. Derron Holas, 19, of North Miami Beach was also driving north in his 2013 Nissan Altima.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Holas did not slow down for Hudson and rear-ended the scooter.

Hudson was ejected from the scooter and fell onto the outside shoulder.

The scooter and car caught fire and were engulfed in flames.

Holas was not injured.

FHP is investigating and charges are pending.
