Residents in southwest Broward may have been surprised during an otherwise quiet Wednesday evening when low-flying military aircraft suddenly roared overhead.

Video quickly circulated on the social media account Only in Dade, showing several V-22 Ospreys flying just above the neighborhood around North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines, where the aircraft were spotted landing. Ospreys are primarily a U.S. Marine Corps aircraft that can land and take off vertically like a helicopter, but fly like airplanes. The Air Force also deploys them.

“I’ve never seen something like this,” a woman could be heard saying in the video.

North Perry Airport spokesperson Arlene Satchell confirmed Thursday morning that the aircraft were connected to “an incoming VIP” visit requiring heightened security measures; she confirmed the VIP was President Donald Trump.

Satchell did not confirm when or why Trump would be arriving at North Perry Airport. However, Axios reported that Trump is expected to attend the national college football championship game between the University of Miami and Indiana University Monday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
