Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are looking for a gunman who fatally shot a man and wounded the man’s son in North Lauderdale Monday night.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. near the 900 block of Southwest 81st Avenue, where investigators say 44-year-old Marlon Samuels was arguing with another man.

The argument turned into a fight, and the man pulled out a gun and shot Marlon Samuels several times before shooting his son, 20-year-old Mikyle Samuels, said BSO spokeswoman Gerdy St. Louis.

The gunman then ran away, St. Louis said. Paramedics declared Marlon Samuels dead at the scene, and took Mikyle to a hospital to be treated for his wounds, which St. Louis said “are not expected to be life-threatening.”

The BSO is asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Detective Louis Bonhomme at 954-321-4377. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477), online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
