Shooting in Fort Lauderdale sends one to the hospital, paramedics say

A man was shot and seriously injured in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday evening, according to fire rescue officials.

It happened shortly after 6 p.m. at 845 NW 10th Terrace. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue paramedics took the man to Broward Health Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries, said Frank Guzman, the department’s spokesman.

Casey Liening, a Fort Lauderdale police spokeswoman, said the shooting is under investigation.

The violence unfolded hours after Fort Lauderdale police announced the death of a teenage girl who was shot Monday at 1592 NW Eighth Avenue, which is about five miles away from Tuesday’s incident.

Police are asking anyone with information about either incident to call 954-764-4357.
