A driver died after being shot and crashing his car on a major Broward street, cops say
A driver who crashed near a nursing home on Douglas Road late Monday night had been shot beforehand, Pembroke Pines police say.
He died behind the wheel of his car, near Memorial Manor nursing home, 777 S. Douglas Rd. The investigation closed Douglas Road between Pines Boulevard and Washington Street until around 6:20 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say several 911 calls came in concerning gunshots fired between cars in the area of Douglas Road and Pines Boulevard around 10:45 p.m. Monday. No information on the second car was released.
Pembroke Pines Capt. Adam Feiner told media Tuesday afternoon, “This does not appear to be a random act of violence. The suspect and victim seemingly know one another or are familiar with the same sets of acquaintances.”
