Scooter driver killed in crash with a Jaguar on State Road 7, Broward deputies say

The driver of a motor scooter was killed in a crash early Thursday on State Road 7 in Broward County.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office says a white Jaguar and a motor scooter collided at the intersection of State Road 7 and Hallandale Beach Boulevard in West Park just before 4 a.m.

The scooter’s driver died in the crash, according to the sheriff’s office. The person’s identity has not been released.

The northbound and southbound lanes at the intersection were closed for about six hours during the investigation and clearing. The lanes reopened around 10 a.m.

Traffic homicide detectives are in contact with the Jaguar driver and are working to determine what led to the crash.
