UPDATE: The boil water notice for portions of Northeast 14th Avenue and East Hallandale Beach Boulevard and Diplomat Parkway was lifted Saturday morning. You no longer have to boil water in that area, said Hallandale Beach officials. But if you used a water filter during that time, the city recommends replacing the filter as a precaution.

A water main break brought on by heavy rains has led to a precautionary boil water notice in the northeastern part of Hallandale Beach, according to the city.

The break happened in the area of Northeast 14th Avenue Tuesday and impacts residents in an area near the Diplomat Golf Course.

Residents and business owners who are within the impacted area should bring tap water to a boil for one minute before using it for eating, drinking and brushing teeth.

The order will be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours, the city said.
