A semi-truck fire caused a just-like-no-quarantine afternoon backup on Interstate 95 northbound in Broward County.

The incident, just north of Sample Road, began at 4:10 p.m. The semi-truck driver was hauling frozen fish when, for some unknown reason, the truck caught fire, said Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Michael Kane.

The driver pulled off to the shoulder lane on I-95 away from traffic, Kane said. One of the trucks fuel tanks was leaking diesel fuel and started a sizable fire, causing large puffs of smoke to billow.

Firefighters fought the flame and put it out. All lanes were blocked until two lanes opened at 5:35 p.m.

Nobody was injured.
