There’s another sewer main break in Fort Lauderdale. Here’s where it is.

Sunday morning in Fort Lauderdale will bring city crews starting repairs on another sewer or water main break, the 10th since the start of December.

No water service is expected to be interrupted, the city says.

Traffic will be guided around the area of Bayview Drive and Northeast 21st Street in the Coral Ridge area, where the 16-inch sewer main broke. The city of Fort Lauderdale said city workers, working with Murphy Pipeline, were able to turn off a valve, which stopped the wastewater spewing out of the break.

Residents are reminded to avoid standing water, but if you touch it, the city said, “Wash your hands with soap and warm water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer immediately after contact with wastewater, especially before preparing or eating food.”
