And, on Sunday, a boil water notice for part of Fort Lauderdale was lifted after 8 days

The precautionary boil water notice that’s been in effect since a Feb. 8 water main break has been lifted, the city of Fort Lauderdale announced Sunday morning.

The city said repairs on the 16-inch water main in the South Fork of the New River, the ninth water main break since the start of December, are done and the water tested safe.

Those inside an area bound by the North Fork of the New River on the north; Davie Boulevard on the south; Southwest 15th Avenue to the west; and Tarpon River on the east, including Southwest Seventh Street and the South Fork no longer have to boil their water before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, etc.

The precautionary boil water notice has been lifted for those in the shaded area.
