One woman ejected and three other people injured in Dania Beach state park boat crash
One person was taken to a hospital as a trauma alert patient after a 42-foot boat slammed into a jetty in Hollywood’s Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park in Tuesday’s first hour, according to Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue.
Aside from the woman ejected, another woman and two men were taken to Broward Health with injuries. BSO Fire Rescue said “all are expected to recover.”
As described by BSO Fire Rescue, the boat “struck a jetty near Port Everglades after having difficulty navigating the dark waters.”
BSO Fire Rescue, Hollywood Fire Rescue and Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue crews got the passengers off the boat in the park formerly known as John Lloyd State Park.
The accident remains under investigation.
