Having a hard time filling out your FEMA application? This place is offering help
If Hurricane Irma damaged your home home or small business, or if you have questions about how to get your business back up and running, there’s a place that’s offering assistance.
On Monday, the Federal Emergency Management Administration will be opening up a Disaster Recovery Center in Sunrise at 7771 W. Oakland Park Blvd.
It will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week until further notice.
The center is one of several in the state. The facilities, staffed by recovery specialists from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the state, will be able to offer in-person support for those filling out FEMA applications or trying to update their status. FEMA asks that applicants bring their insurance policies and bank information. Registration can be completed online at online at DisasterAssistance.gov.
