Hours after the sexual assault of a 60-year-old woman in Sunrise on Monday morning — in which a man came up from behind as she walked and assaulted her in nearby bushes — a Hollywood woman allegedly suffered from a similar attack.

The 18-year-old told police a man with a knife forced her into the bushes in the 4900 block of Sheridan Street around 3 a.m. Tuesday. There, she said, he sexually assaulted her. The Sunrise attack happened at about 6:30 a.m. Monday as the woman walked along the 3600 block of Northwest 90th Terrace.

Despite the similarities to the assault in Sunrise, it’s likely they were assaulted by two different men. The attacker in Sunrise was described as clean shaven, and between 30 and 40 years old, police said. The Hollywood victim described a man in his 30s with brown facial hair and a gray tank top. His silver, two-door car had dark tinted windows and purple lights.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hollywood Police Department at 954-764-4357 or 954-967-4411 or Broward Crime Stoppers via the website or 954-493-8477.
