Here’s where to find the cheapest gas this week in Miami-Dade, Broward and the Keys

Looking for cheaper gas?

Miami-Dade gas prices have fallen 2.3 cents per gallon in the past week, with an average of $2.52 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 1,690 gas stations.

The price drop at the pumps follows the most expensive start to a new year since 2014, according to AAA.

The cheaper fuel comes a week after rising tensions between the United States and Iran — in part due to the killing of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani earlier this month. But the tension is de-escalating, with oil prices plummeting back to under $60 per barrel, said Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy.

“For now, the reduced tensions may lead gas prices to again begin falling in most states over the next few weeks before seasonal factors then again push prices back up,” DeHaan said in a statement. “Bottom line: Enjoy the falling prices while they last and cross your fingers that tensions continue to cool between the U.S. and Iran.”

GasBuddy has been tracking gas station-level data for nearly two decades and says it updates its survey 288 times a day. Part of the data relies on gas station ratings and customers using its free app to report fuel prices.

Only two South Florida gas stations made GasBuddy’s “Top 10 Lowest Gas Prices and Best Gas Stations in Florida” Monday, and both are in Coral Springs, Broward County:

Rocket Fuel, 8161 Wiles Rd., has the No. 1 slot at $2.17 per gallon — the cheapest price you’ll find in South Florida Monday.

Exxon, 8268 Wiles Rd., snagged the No. 3 spot with $2.19 per gallon.

Some of the most expensive gas can be found in tourist-populated areas such as Miami Beach.

One Chevron gas station on the Beach, 401 71st St., is charging $3.69 per gallon — the most expensive gas in South Florida Monday, according to GasBuddy.

In Miami, prices were considerably cheaper.

Costco, 7795 W. Flagler St., and BJ’s, 7050 Coral Way, took the first two slots in GasBuddy’s Top 10 Lowest Gas Prices in Miami with $2.34 per gallon.

Westar, 6201 N. Miami Ave., came in at No. 3 with $2.36 per gallon.
