No mask? No problem! Watch a Target shopper do a grocery run in a dinosaur suit
Shoppers are going to the store wearing masks, gloves and other personal protection equipment to safeguard against coronavirus.
One Hollywood man took things to a whole other level on Tuesday evening: The local sales consultant went to the Super Target in Davie in a dinosaur costume. A T-Rex, to be exact.
Sebastian Dominguez’s wife, teacher-writer Aurora Dominguez, documented the hilarious excursion on Instagram. Dressing up was part joke, part safety measure.
“We’d been feeling cooped up so we decided to go on a grocery run,” she told her former employer, the Miami Herald. “He said, ‘Everyone is sad; let’s put a smile on people’s faces.’”
In one video, Sebastian Dominguez, who got the Halloween costume out of storage for the occasion, is holding a shopping basket perusing the aisles. He reaches over but the suit’s tiny arms aren’t letting him reach the shelf. “I need help,” he says, voice muffled.
“Target run with @sebcafe a success. We stayed safe and it was pretty empty!” the caption read. “And, got the groceries we needed! And, made people smile! Win!”
Reactions in the store were mixed, Aurora Dominguez said.
“Some people laughed, especially Target employees. A child told his mom, ‘Look, mom, a dino!’ Some just walked on by.”
