Wearing a diaper as a face mask won’t protect you from coronavirus, Miami. Just stop

We get it: You want to feel safe outside the sanctity of your immaculately clean home.

Even though so called surgical face masks don’t necessarily protect you from contracting coronavirus, wearing one may make you feel more secure when say, stocking up at your local Walmart.

The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention recommends the N95 masks to work most effectively in filtering out 95 percent of particles in the air.

Due to the scarcity of them, you see people on the Internet have been scouring the lingerie drawer for materials, cutting up bras and even underwear.

But in Miami, we’ve seen people getting even more, um, creative when out to shopping and doing errands.

Someone even tried out a shoe.

On Instagram page @onlyinHialeahGardens, a man is ordering from someone behind a counter with a sneaker tied about his face. No gloves, by the way.

But the most unusual mask we spotted so far in this pandemic was worn by a Publix customer in Cutler Bay. An onlooker shot video of him shopping for meat wearing what appears to be a baby diaper just doing his thing.

Hey, we’re in a global pandemic here. So whatever gets you through the day.
