Miami Beach spring breaker who made light of coronavirus backtracks: ‘Life is precious’

Brady Sluder has learned the error of this ways.

No, really, he has.

You may not recognize the name, but you might recall his face — and words.

Sluder, down in Miami Beach from Ohio for spring break last week, was interviewed about why he was partying amid the coronavirus outbreak.

“If I get corona, I get corona,” the Ohio college student infamously told a Reuters TV crew. “At the end of the day, I’m not going to let it stop me from partying.”

Earlier this week on Instagram, the freshman released a statement, apologizing, and seemed sincere, at least “on paper,” so to speak.

“I can’t apologize enough to the people I’ve offended and the lives I’ve insulted. I’m not asking for your forgiveness, or pity. I want to use this as motivation to become a better person, a better son, a better friend, and a better citizen.”

The 22-year-old goes on to say that we should all listen to what health officials say and heed their warnings about social distancing and stopping the spread of the disease.

“Life is precious. Don’t be arrogant and think you’re invincible like myself. I’ve learned from these trying times and I’ve felt the repercussions to the fullest. Unfortunately, simply apologizing doesn’t justify my behavior. I’m simply owning up to my mistakes and taking full responsibility for my actions. Thank you for your time, and stay safe everyone.”
