South Florida’s real estate calendar for the week of July 20

Real estate webinars this week focus on a variety of topics — from affordable housing to construction.

July 21

The Coral Gables-based law firm Siegfried Rivera will host the free webinar “Construction projects, construction defects and Covid-19” from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Nicholas Siegfried, a shareholder at the law firm, Misha Mladenovic, president of the South Miami-based contractor M2E, and Rafael Aquino, co-founder and CEO of the Doral-based property management firm Affinity, will participate in the discussion. The panelists will discuss how associations can move forward with construction and renovation plans during the ongoing pandemic. RSVP here.

The New York-based digital media company Bisnow will host the free webinar “South Florida update: Affordable housing” from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Discussion topics include year-over-year lease renewals, investment activity for affordable housing projects during the pandemic, rent collections activity since March and the status of several affordable housing development plans. David Deutch, partner at the Kendall-based affordable housing development firm Pinnacle, will join others in the talk. RSVP here.

The Florida chapter of the Certified Commercial Investment Member organization, or CCIM, will host the free webinar “Valuations and property values in Miami-Dade County” from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Panelists will discuss the changes in commercial property values since the pandemic and what the future may hold for the market. Speakers include Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler lawyer Sabrina Robinson, Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser Pedro Garcia and CRE Valuation Services Managing Partner Mick Stiksma. RSVP here.

South Florida’s public spaces are at the center of the free webinar “Miami Spaces Being, Together” hosted by Friends of the Underline. The discussion, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., will focus on how planning, design and uses changed from before to after COVID-19. Panelists include Maria Nardi, director of the department for Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces, and Kona Gray, principal at the Fort Lauderdale-based landscape design firm EDSA.
