Senior-level hires and promotions for the week of Jan. 11

BANKS

TotalBank has promoted the following:

▪ Martha Guerra-Kattou, senior vice president, was named bank sales director. She attended Miami-Dade College and completed the Florida School of Banking program.

▪ Enrique “Henry” Villaronga, senior vice president, was named residential lending director. He has a business administration degree from Miami Dade College.

Evan T. Rees was recently named executive vice president, corporate lending at U.S. Century Bank. He was most recently corporate banking team leader at City National Bank. Rees has a master’s in economics from North Carolina State University.

HOSPITALITY

Stephen Jackson has joined Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort and Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort as complex director of catering and conference services. He most recently was director of catering for Turnberry Isle Miami Resort and Spa in Aventura. Jackson attended Palm Beach State College and Nova Southeastern University.

LAW FIRMS

Bilzin Sumberg has announced that three attorneys have been elected to the firm’s partnership:

▪ Alexandra Lehson, commercial real estate transactions. J.D. from the University of Florida.

▪ Joseph Mamounas, business litigation. J.D. from University of Miami.

▪ Stacia A. Wells, corporate finance. J.D. from Stanford.

Gordon James III has joined the business litigation practice of Brinkley Morgan in Fort Lauderdale as a partner. He received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University.

MARKETING

Asher Levine has joined JeffreyGroup as managing director at the firm’s Miami Beach headquarters. He previously was at Thomson Reuters, where he spent the past four years as a Sao Paulo-based correspondent. Levine has a master’s degree in Latin American Studies from Columbia University.

REAL ESTATE

Omar De Windt has been named vice president of corporate communications at Cervera Real Estate. Previously, he was director of public relations — North America, Caribbean and Latin America for 3AWORLDWIDE.

Mover’s spotlight

Name: Marcie Bour

New position: Partner at Yip Associates, a consulting firm specializing in forensic accounting and financial investigations, among other areas. She will be based in Miami and Fort Lauderdale and will lead the firm’s Valuation Services team.

Previous: Bour founded Florida Business Valuation Group in 2003.

Also: Bour is immediate past president of the South Florida Affiliate of the American Women’s Society of CPAs. She is also past president of the North Dade South Broward Chapter of the FICPA and remains on its board as the director. She has also been chair of the board of governors of the Institute of Business Appraisers and has been on the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts’ executive advisory board and its litigation forensics board. She is also a co-author of “Financial Valuation, Applications and Models, Third Edition,” published by Wiley & Sons.

Education and training: Bour is a certified public accountant. Her business valuation credentials include the accredited in business valuation (ABV) from the AICPA and the certified valuation analyst (CVA) from NACVA. She is also a certified fraud examiner (CFE) and master analyst in financial forensics (MAFF), and is accredited in business appraisal review (ABAR). She has a bachelor’s of business administration from Emory University.

Best advice: The best advice, that I took to heart early in my career, is to always trust my instincts.
