He realizes it’s an odd thing to say, but Andrew Koenig stands by it.
“In a strange way, the recession was a blessing in disguise,” said Koenig, vice president of operations for City Furniture, based in Tamarac.
The recession that started in 2007 helped the furniture retailer identify ways in which it was being wasteful, how it could run more efficiently and how to create a better work environment for its employees, Koenig said.
