A new grocery store is opening in Miami. What to know about the market and what it needs

As Sprouts Farmers Market gets ready to open a new location in a developing Miami-Dade neighborhood in January, the specialty grocer where produce is the main event is looking to hire.

Here’s what to know:

Where is the new Sprouts?

The coming Sprouts store #656, the seventh in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale areas and the 45th in Florida since opening the first in Tampa Bay in 2017, debuts at 7 a.m. Jan. 19 at 2750 SW 27th Ter. in the Coconut Grove area on South Dixie Highway.

If you haven’t been inside a Sprouts yet, think of it like the produce department at Publix, Winn-Dixie or Sedano’s gone large.

The chain, which has grown to about 400 stores in 23 states, focuses on fresh and organic produce making that department a focal point in its stores. But there are also bulk goods aisles festooned with nuts, grains, granola and coffee beans by weight. There are vitamins and body care sections.

And like most grocers, including Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, there are frozen foods, packaged groceries, meat and seafood, prepared foods, deli, baked goods and dairy departments, as well as household items.

Sprouts will reveal opening day celebration plans shortly, the company said.
