A new grocery store in Florida is opening more locations. What shoppers should know
The grocery stores keep coming.
Aldi and Publix continue to expand across Florida. And so does Sprouts, which bills itself as a farmers market but has all the ingredients of a grocery store.
Over the past couple of years, Sprouts has sprouted across South Florida. And the new stores keep coming.

Here’s what to know about Sprouts:
What is Sprouts?
Focus on produce: You know about produce aisles inside your local Publix, Winn-Dixie, Whole Foods, Sedano’s, Walmart, Trader Joe’s, Aldi and Fresh Market. Think of the Phoenix-based Sprouts where the produce aisle is the main course. Produce represents nearly a quarter of Sprouts’ business, but the stores also have bulk goods aisles of nuts, grains, granola and coffee beans by weight, vitamins and body care sections, as well as frozen foods, packaged groceries, meat and seafood, deli, baked goods, dairy products and household items.
Number of stores: Sprouts, a publicly traded company, has more than 380 stores in 23 states, including Florida.
First location in Florida: The first Sprouts in Florida was in the Tampa Bay area, a 27,000-square foot market opened at Carollwood in February 2017. A Dania Beach location in South Broward opened in 2021.
Where in Florida is Sprouts opening new locations?
West Boca: A new store will open April 28 at 9831 Glades Rd. and U.S. 441 in southern Palm Beach County.
The Villages: A new store will open March 17 at 330 Buena Vista Blvd.
Are there Sprouts locations in Miami-Dade and Broward counties?
Sprouts, which has stores in 23 states, has several locations in South Florida:

Are any Sprouts in Florida closing?
Wellington: The location in central-west Palm Beach County, open for about four years, will close at the end of April, a company executive told the community news site Wellington Mom. Regional Vice President Lucas Larson said the store is 30% larger than the typical Sprouts, which has reduced the footprint to about 23,000 square feet., and has underperformed financially.
