What’s the best mall in South Florida? Vote for your favorite, and then go shopping
Maybe you hung out at the mall as a teen. Maybe you’re heading to one right now as a grown-up ready to do some holiday shopping.
Since the 1960s, indoor malls have been a thing in South Florida. Aventura, Sawgrass Mills, Dadeland, Dolphin, Westland, 163rd Street, Broward, Galleria and others have opened over the past 60 years.
Some of them started as outdoor strip shopping centers before they were expanded and enclosed. All of them changed the way we shop. When they opened, customers left downtown business districts and flocked to the suburbs with their wallets wide open.
What’s your favorite major mall in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale area? This isn’t a scientific survey — it’s just for fun, like heading to the mall for some window shopping and a bite at the food court. Oh, and if you can’t see this poll, turn off your ad blocker.
Happy shopping at your favorite.
