About 339,000 of these power adapters have been recalled. They’ve started fires.
Power adapters shouldn’t threaten to burn down the house. That’s why Epson recalled 339,000 power adapters in the United States and Canada.
The exact problem, as stated in the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice: “The power adapters can overheat, melt and catch fire, posing burn and fire hazards.”
And, Epson has heard of this happening 15 times, causing property damage, but not injury.
This covers power adapters sold with Epson’s V-series scanners, V30/V33/V37/V300/V330/V370, from January 2010 through December 2015 at national retailers such as Walmart, Best Buy, Office Depot, Staples and other places.
Epson’s offering replacement adapters and asks customers to contact the company at 888-367-2656 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Eastern time, Monday through Friday, or go to this page of the Epson website.
