Three teens killed after car slams into bus stop in Pompano Beach
Three teenagers were killed late Monday night after a violent two-vehicle crash in Pompano Beach sent one car off the road along North Federal Highway, authorities said.
The victims were identified as a 15, 16, and an 18 years old. All three were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Carey Codd. Their names have not been released.
It all began when deputies responded at around 7 p.m. to reports of a traffic crash along the 1600 block of North Federal Highway.
Investigators determined that two vehicles collided, causing one of them to veer off the roadway. After the collision, that vehicle slammed into a light pole and then struck a bus stop.
A stretch of Federal Highway remained closed for several hours as investigators probed the circumstances leading up to the collision.
Anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
