Rush hour traffic in and around the Golden Glades Interchange, often called the Spaghetti Bowl, will be more tangled than usual from Monday through Wednesday, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

The cause: construction crews will be installing steel beams over a connector ramp as part of a future flyover that will link eastbound Palmetto Expressway (SR 826) to northbound Interstate 95.

The primary closures will impact the Florida’s Turnpike connector ramp, which ties eastbound and westbound Palmetto Expressway and both directions of Florida’s Turnpike to I-95 northbound and southbound.

All affected traffic will be detoured. Additional closures and detours include:

  • The ramp from the Golden Glades Interchange to southbound State Road 9.

  • The ramp to southbound State Road 7/US 441/Northwest Seventh Avenue.

  • On Wednesday, the ramp from Northwest Seventh Avenue Extension to northbound Florida’s Turnpike.

The only bright spot: traffic is expected to return to normal by Thursday July 3.
