Miami Dolphins play Sunday. You can watch them from a private cabana at the stadium
The Miami Dolphins have a new way for fans to watch the team’s 2020-2021 NFL season: On the big screen outside Hard Rock Stadium.
Using the outdoor theater that has been showing family-friendly movies since June, the Hard Rock has announced Gameday Theater, which will broadcast home and away games on the fountain plaza video board in a socially distant environment.
The team will allow 13,000 fans to physically attend home games inside the stadium. But perhaps you prefer staying socially distant from screaming maniacs painted aqua and orange (this is especially crucial during any New York Jets game). If so, the theater option may be for you.
Your choices will include bean bag loungers, private cabana shells that seat up to four guests or living room boxes with up to eight guests. There’s also a south lawn sports bar with a table and lounge pods and a gameday café dining area. You can also order food and drinks via your phone and have it delivered to you.
As for parking, there’s also a special entrance for theater guests that will open two hours before kickoff, plus dedicated parking.
“It’s a fundamental human need to enjoy life’s experiences together with other people,” said Miami Dolphins Vice Chairman and CEO Tom Garfinkel in a press release.
The Dolphins are also launching what they’re calling a Virtual Membership Pass for current season ticket members. This means that while you’re watching the game on TV, you also have access to special content on a mobile or tablet device: a stadium show, trivia, giveaways, stats and other team content. It will be available for the first regular season home game against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 20.
Tickets start at $30-$40 for the outdoor theater are available for the Sept. 13 game against the New England Patriots at hardrockstadium.com.
