Three-day weekend alert! Here’s what’s open and closed in Miami this Labor Day holiday
Somehow, we have made it to Labor Day. We’re not sure how this happened, but here we are. And as it does not appear that we will be under a hurricane watch this weekend, making plans to leave the house is possible.
So what’s new this weekend? Restaurants reopened Monday for indoor dining at 50 percent capacity, although you can still eat outdoors or get takeout if you prefer.
The Institute of Contemporary Art Miami in the Design District has reopened after temporarily closing because of the COVID-19 pandemic. You will need to reserve a timed ticket at icamiami.org/welcome-back/. The museum’s new hours are 11 a.m.-noon for senior and at-risk visitors and noon-6 p.m. for general admission.
This is also the last weekend to explore “A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature” at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science. And if you don’t mind driving to theaters in Pembroke Pines or Hollywood, you can catch a screening of Christopher Nolan’s long-awaited “Tenet.”
Here’s what’s open and what’s closed in and around Miami on Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 4-7. Miami-Dade County’s daily curfew from 10 p.m.-6 a.m. continues for now and masks are still mandatory in Miami-Dade County.
